The Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar is buzzing with activity as extensive preparations are being made for the upcoming Maha Shivratri festival on Wednesday. With a large number of devotees expected to visit the sacred temple, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone. Odisha’s Law Minister, Prithviraj Harichandan, shared on Monday that all necessary arrangements are being carefully finalized to allow devotees to offer their prayers without any disruptions. One of the key highlights of the festival will be the ceremonial lighting of the Mahadipa, scheduled for 10 PM on the sacred night.
To ensure everything runs seamlessly, a series of important meetings have been held between the Lingaraj Temple committees and local authorities. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, along with other senior officials, has been actively reviewing safety protocols and coordination measures. These discussions aim to foster effective collaboration among all parties involved in managing the festival logistics.
Special attention is being given to enhancing the experience for devotees. Two major meetings have already taken place to review the arrangements, as highlighted by the Law Minister. Key focus areas include strengthening security with additional CCTV cameras and simplifying the entry process at the temple. To maintain order, specific routes have been designated for devotees, while priests and their families will have separate entry points. VIP pass holders will also follow distinct procedures to ensure a hassle-free experience.
In addition to security measures, the authorities are also considering special provisions to ensure the comfort and convenience of devotees during the festivities. All tactical plans are currently in the implementation phase, promising a peaceful and secure environment for everyone participating in the celebrations. With these meticulous preparations, the Lingaraj Temple is all set to welcome devotees for a memorable Maha Shivratri celebration.
