Today Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi relocated into his new official residence on Raj Bhavan Marg in Bhubaneswar. At 10:47 AM the CM performed the housewarming ritual.
Many ceremonies, including worship of two cows, were carried out before moving into the new dwelling. Then the Chief Minister walked into the residence with his wife. Since former Chief Ministers Janaki Ballabh Patnaik and Giridhar Gamang last used it 26 years ago, the official CM home on Raj Bhavan Marg had remained vacant.
Majhi first remained in government quarters on Gandhi Marg for around eight months after ascending to CM. A priest engaged in the event claimed that other rites followed cow worship as the starting point.
