International sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik spent six hours on Thursday making a sand sculpture to promote ‘Jan Aushadhi Diwas,’ drawing attention to the significance of Jan Aushadhi centers nationwide. Marked annually on March 7, the ‘Jan Aushadhi Diwas’ serves as a reminder of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana, a national welfare program that encourages the use of low-cost, high-quality generic drugs made available through Jan Aushadhi Kendras spread across the country. In honor of this important cause, celebrations will take place all around the nation from March 1st to the 7th. Jan Aushadhi Diwas is observed on March 7, with the subject being “Daam Kaam Dawai Uttam,” according to Sudarshan Patnaik, who spoke with IANS regarding the festival. I made a sand sculpture that goes along with the idea of the ‘Jan Aushadhi Diwas’ and shows how great it is. The people of India and the nation would benefit greatly from this program that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched. I have thus created a sand sculpture to emphasize this. Plus, Prime Minister Modi is depicted in this sculpture. This sand art took me about five or six hours to create. In November 2008, the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Central Pharma Public Sector Undertakings launched the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana. Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras are specialized stores that will sell affordable, high-quality medicines to the general public.

The primary goal of this social program is to ensure that all citizens have access to affordable, high-quality generic medications. Not only should people be informed about the advantages of generic drugs, but it should also be stressed that just because they are sold at a lower price does not indicate that their quality has been compromised. The idea that greater costs always mean better quality is something this campaign hopes to change. The Prime Minister’s Department One of the most important things that Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana has done is to make sure that everyone in the country has access to affordable, high-quality medicines.
