Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders have until March 31st of this year to voluntarily depart the country, according to the Pakistani authorities. The action is part of a multiphase relocation policy that targets Afghan migrants, including those living in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and waiting to be resettled in third countries, according to an official document cited by the media. The paper states that ACC holders would start to be deported on April 1st of this year. The decision was made while relations between Kabul and Islamabad are deteriorating due to the problem of terrorism. Along with many unauthorized migrants, the move is expected to affect more over 8 lakh Afghan refugees who currently hold Afghan Citizen Cards.
