Apple Supports 1 Million Developer Jobs in India

Apple announced that it now supports 1 million developer jobs in India, with App Store payouts to developers in the country having more than tripled since 2018. CEO Tim Cook expressed excitement about building on the long-standing history of Apple’s presence in India, supporting customers, investing in local communities, and working together to build a better future with innovative solutions that serve humanity.

Cook stated, “At Apple, our mission is to enrich lives and empower people around the world. India has such a beautiful culture and an incredible energy..” He also highlighted the iOS App Design and Development Accelerator in Bengaluru, which has hosted sessions for over 15,000 developers, helping them refine their app ideas and gain a competitive edge in the market.

In addition to supporting developer jobs, Apple has been manufacturing iPhones in India since 2017, supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs through manufacturing and local component manufacturers. As part of Apple’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030, all active Indian manufacturing supply chain partners are committed to using clean energy for their Apple operations.
