
Union Minister for Health, Family Welfare, Chemical and Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda along with Minister of State for Health, Family Welfare, Chemical and Fertilizers Anupriya Patel today flagged off the chariot and ten other vehicles of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana in New Delhi. The Jan Aushadhi Jan Chetna Saptah is being organised from today till 7th March. Jan Aushadhi Divas which will be celebrated on 7th of this month. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nadda urged everyone to make Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana a public movement (Jan Andolan).Â
The Minister also urged people to talk about it with their relatives and friends so that they can also avail the benefits. He said, it is the government’s responsibility to provide medicines to people at lower rates and the government has done its responsibility. Ms Patel said that through the department of Pharmaceuticals, Jan Aushadhi Jan Chetna Saptah is being organised, under which, through many activities, public awareness will be held. She said, Jan Aushadhi Kendra used to be only 80 before 2014, now it is more than 15 thousand in different parts of the country. The Minister said that more and more people should know about affordable medicines which are available in Jan Aushadhi Kendras and take benefit. She said, quality healthcare is the Government’s priority and Jan Aushadhi is an important step towards it.
