
Under its flagship project Subhadra Yojana on the auspicious occasion of International Women’s Day, Odisha Government today released second installment money.
At a special programme in Berhampur, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed Rs 5,000 among more than 1 Crore women beneficiaries. Present at the Subhadra money disbursement programme were Deputy Chief Ministers Pravati Parida and KV Singh Deo, Berhampur Lok Sabha Member Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy. Under the program, the government paid women recipients around Rs 5,000 Crore in financial aid. To honor Goddess Subhadra for the success of the program, the Subhadra beneficiaries on an appeal from Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida placed candles in front of their main door of their homes last evening. Under Subhadra Yojana, two days ago—that is, on March 6—an amount of Rs 5,000 was distributed to total 2.30 lakh women beneficiaries in the fifth phase of first installment, so meeting the goal number of 1 crore within only eight months of the scheme.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2024, in Odisha with the establishment of the BJP administration, Subhadra project was Although 25 lakh women’s bank accounts were credited with Rs 5,000 in first phase, the plan helped about 39 lakh women in second phase on October 9 last year. On November 24 the third phase money was distributed to twenty lakh women beneficiaries. Over 18 lakh women beneficiaries in the fourth phase got Rs 5,000 on February 8.
