YouTube introduces real-time lyrics feature, similar to Spotify: Report

YouTube Music has faced criticism for its lack of features, but the company has been working to introduce new features to the app. One of the latest features being added is real-time lyrics, which is already available on third-party apps. This feature allows users to sing along to their favourite songs by displaying the lyrics on the screen and highlighting each line as it is sung. According to 9to5Google, the feature is now being rolled out on both Android and iPhones. However, the Android version does not yet have any visual effects in the lyrics tab, whereas on iPhones, there is a background blur effect on the lyrics page.

Reddit users have shared screenshots showing that the real-time lyrics feature has already been enabled on their devices. Additionally, YouTube Music has introduced a new feature that displays song and album credits, allowing users to view credits for each song and album they listen to. This feature was recently added and is currently available on both Android and iOS.

Another recent feature added to YouTube Music is the automatic download of recently played songs for users on Android. This feature automatically downloads up to 200 recently played songs, but there is currently no dedicated playlist for recently played songs in the Library tab. This feature was initially introduced in mid-January, but it only became widely available to Android users last month. Unfortunately, it is not yet available for YouTube Music on iOS.

Overall, the addition of real-time lyrics, song and album credits, and automatic downloads for recently played songs, shows that YouTube Music is working to catch up to its competitors by introducing new and useful features. These features will make the app more engaging for users, and hopefully attract new users as well.
